
Former President Receives Emeritus Award, New Pathway Created for High School Students
Former Richmond Community College president, Dr. Dale McInnis, accepted an Emeritus Status Award from the College’s Board of Trustees at Tuesday’s meeting.
His successor, President Brent Barbee, presented the award to him, noting that very few college presidents achieve this milestone. A president must have continuous service of 10 years or more to be granted emeritus status. McInnis served as president for 14 years.

RichmondCC Announces Honor Lists for 2024 Fall Semester
Richmond Community College has announced its honor lists for the 2024 Fall Semester. The President’s List identifies students who earn an “A” in all courses and have a 4.0 grade point average while carrying 12 or more semester credit hours excluding developmental courses. The Dean’s List identifies students who attain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 with no grade lower than a “B” while carrying 12 or more semester credit hours excluding developmental courses.

RichmondCC Cyber Security Students Score Big in National Competition
Four students in Richmond Community College’s Cyber Security program competed in the National Cyber League (NCL) competition against nearly 5,000 other teams. They scored 2,090 points out of 3,100, which placed them 234th out of 4,894.
2006 Nursing Graduate Wins Alumni of the Year Award
Chinna Hale, the Executive Director of Nursing Services for Scotland Health Care System, has been named Richmond Community College’s 2024 Outstanding Alumni award winner.
